Your Day-to-Day
- Own the Internal Tech Stack – Take end-to-end ownership of our internal software platforms, consolidating and integrating them into one leaner, scalable ecosystem and reducing tool sprawl across the business.
- Advise Leadership – Serve as the go-to technical expert for VPs and executives, recommending the right tools and translating technology options into clear business decisions.
- Oversee Systems Integration – Manage APIs, data flows, and enterprise platforms, ensuring systems connect cleanly and scale with the business as it grows.
- Evaluate & Select Technology – Run structured assessments of new tools and vendors against real business needs — functionality, scalability, cost, and integration-readiness.
- Manage Cost & Commercials – Weigh subscription vs. one-time models, infrastructure and storage costs, and total cost of ownership, driving cost optimization through strategic technology decisions.
- Set Standards & Governance – Establish practical governance around tools, data flows, and integrations to keep everything secure, reliable, and maintainable.
- Build Hands-On – Design and deliver integrations and automation directly, either solo or by directing supporting engineer.
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 5+ years across technical delivery and technical advisory — you started hands-on (infrastructure, DevOps, integration, or engineering) and grew into an architecture or advisory role.
- Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to hold a room of senior, non-technical stakeholders and make complex technology simple and actionable — this is essential and assessed closely.
- Strong systems-integration mindset, with proven experience evaluating and selecting tools and vendors against real business requirements.
- Commercial and cost fluency — total cost of ownership, subscription vs. buy trade-offs, and optimizing technology spend.
- Genuinely hands-on, able to architect and build integrations yourself, not just recommend them.
- Comfortable working independently and owning a domain solo, without a large team behind you.
- Nice-to-have: automation tooling (n8n, Rundeck, APIs), retail/education or multi-brand environments, multi-cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure), data warehousing (BigQuery), and ISO 27001.
