Some of your duties will include:
Provides expert technical, leadership, and strategic support to the Maintenance Manager to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all fixed plant assets; The role responsibility focuses on maintenance execution, troubleshooting, asset reliability, defect elimination, and capability building within the maintenance workforce, while also supporting leadership decision-making, shutdown readiness, and alignment with long-term maintenance strategies; Responsible to supports the Manager in mechanical, electrical, and process control domains, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of major equipment such as primary crushers, overland conveyors, SAG mills, ball mills, flotation systems, and concentrate plant filters.
- Provide technical expertise and solutions for breakdowns, chronic issues, and complex maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) of major equipment failures and drive corrective actions to eliminate repeat defects.
- Develop and enforce maintenance standards, technical procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Support the Maintenance Manager with leadership responsibilities, including workforce engagement and decision-making.
- Mentor maintainers in technical problem-solving and reliability improvement.
- Provide input to shutdown planning and oversee safe execution of critical maintenance tasks.
- Act as the technical interface between maintenance and operations to ensure maintainability and asset integrity.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in cost efficiency, equipment performance, and reliability.
- Provide input into long-term asset management, lifecycle costing, and strategic reliability initiatives.
- Provide specialized technical support in mechanical, electrical, and process control systems across the fixed plant.
- Troubleshooting and reliability initiatives for critical equipment including primary crushers, overland conveyors, SAG mills, ball mills, flotation cells, and concentrate filters.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and process stability.
- Support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies for large-scale processing equipment.
- Ensure integration of control systems and instrumentation to enhance plant automation and reliability.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or trade qualification in Mechanical/Electrical discipline (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and process control in extensive fixed plant maintenance operations in mineral, mining or heavy industry, with proven expertise in troubleshooting, defect elimination, and equipment reliability improvement; Has minimum 5+ years experience working in similar role as Manager/ Senior Superintendent/ Senior Advisor in field processing plant / fixed plant operations & maintenance and project management;
- Strong technical knowledge of crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps, flotation machines and other fixed plant systems; Knowledge of asset management principles, reliability engineering, and lifecycle strategies.
- Proven ability in root cause analysis, defect elimination, and condition monitoring; Experience in shutdown preparation and execution of critical maintenance tasks; Experience in the management and administration of budgets and financial controls in a multinational company dan process fixed plant maintenance industry;
- Strong leadership, Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration across multiple levels; Strong work ethic; High degree of professionalism; Ability to work both independently and as a team player and thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment dependent on managing multiple project timelines and schedules simultaneously; Good analytical, conflict resolution, sound decision making skills; Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; High computer literacy with all business and maintenance related software functions;
