Position Summary

The Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality lessons using English 1's branded content and methodologies. They will ensure learner satisfaction through engaging instruction, effective classroom management, and adherence to English 1's teaching standards. Additional responsibilities include course administration, student progress tracking, parental communication, and supporting center events or marketing activities.

Work Schedule

40-hour workweek (over 5–6 days), as scheduled by the Director of Studies (DOS)
Up to 36 Academic Classroom Hours (ACH) per week (1 ACH = 40 minutes)
Overtime remuneration applies for work exceeding:

40 total hours per week
36 ACH per week

Onsite and offsite teaching duties
Morning and afternoon shifts may be required on the same day
Teachers may be assigned to any English 1 center within the Partner Group but will primarily work at one center

Reporting Structure

The Teacher reports to the Director of Studies (DoS).

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Student Engagement
Deliver high-quality English lessons following English 1's curriculum and methodologies
Prepare lesson materials and classroom equipment in advance
Begin and end classes on time; be in class 5 minutes before start time
Utilise audio/video materials and incorporate technology into lessons
Develop and use supplementary teaching materials as needed
Monitor student progress, administer assessments, and maintain accurate records
Ensure students understand and follow safety and behaviour policies
Administrative & Center Support
Maintain up-to-date student and class records
Assist with student placement testing
Provide demo lessons and participate in promotional activities as required
Support center events, including extracurricular activities, tutorials, and social events
Substitute for absent colleagues when necessary
Assist with marketing initiatives and the induction of new sales and teaching staff
Keep teaching materials and resources organised and in good condition
Adhere to English 1's administrative procedures and policies
Professional Development & Communication
Regularly meet with the DoS to discuss teaching performance and center operations
Attend training sessions and professional development meetings
Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment
