Job Description

Position Title: System Administrator

Experience Level: Senior Level

Work Schedule: Shift-based 24/7 WFO in BSD

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive System Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in operating system management (Windows and Linux), networking services, and identity management. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and high availability. This role requires flexibility to work in shifts to support 24/7 operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operating System Management & Security

  • Plan, install, configure, and maintain server operating systems, ensuring high performance and availability.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, including patching, updates, and upgrades.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including system hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance with security policies.
  • Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

2. Infrastructure & Service Implementation

  • Design, implement, and manage core infrastructure services, including:
  • Configure and maintain name resolution services.
  • Manage SFTP servers and shared folder permissions securely.
  • Administer user accounts, group policies, and domain services.
  • Manage PKI, SSL/TLS certificates, and certificate lifecycle.
  • Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365 environments.

3. Operational Support & Shift Work

  • Participate in a rotating shift schedule to provide continuous operational support.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests during shift hours, escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

4. Backup & Disaster Recovery (Value-Add)

  • (Preferred) Assist in designing, monitoring, and testing backup systems to ensure data integrity and recovery capabilities.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
  • Expert-level knowledge in Windows Server and Red Hat Linux / CentOS Linux.
  • Proficient in OS installation, maintenance, patching, and security hardening.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with DNS, Active Directory, and Certificate Management.
  • Experience configuring and securing File Sharing solutions (SFTP, Network Shares).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with additional Linux distributions: Ubuntu, Rocky Linux.
  • Knowledge of Backup Systems and disaster recovery planning.
