Role Summary:

The SME - Mechanical is responsible for the successful Transition and Operation of Mechanical system which cover Cooling system, Pumps, CRAC, Fire Suppression and BMS related system within the Data Center Managed Services department. This role plays a crucial part in coordinating with various stakeholders, establishing project and operation management protocols, and creating comprehensive reporting mechanisms to ensure a seamless Project Transition and Operation process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

a. Project to Operation Transition

  • Involve in design review and provide feedback/advice/recommendation
  • Involve project implementation (BoQ review, MoS involvement, installation, Test & commissioning, acceptance and punch list tracker)
  • Coordinate with project team, vendor & supplier for training material and the schedule
  • SOP/EOP development
  • Maintenance planning
  • Collaboration in Operation with IOH to ensure Data Center availability and reliability

b. Technical Lead and Development

  • Lead problem resolution (point of technical escalation, lead problem solving and providing RCA)
  • Equipment performance assessment, analysis and improvement
  • Develop maintenance plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure Policy compliance and within-budget
  • Develop emergency drill scenario and scheduling for execution
  • Technical skill development (develop skill matrix criteria and checklist, skill gap analysis, develop training syllabus refer skill matrix, skill evaluation)
  • Collaborate with site engineer, vendor and supplier i.e Preventive or Repair maintenance result review as Technical Mechanical expertise

c. Risk Identification, Resolution and Mitigation

  • Regular DC Audit and Assessment
  • Identify risks and issues that may affect reliability-availability
  • Register, track, follow up and escalate (if required) risk for resolution & mitigation

d. Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Collaborate and maintain effective communication with multiple stakeholders, includingclients, internal teams, vendors, and partners, to ensure project & operation objectives are met.
  • Involve in Change Management processesto minimize disruptions and interruption in current production.

e. Reporting Management:

  • Develop and maintainrobust reporting mechanisms to track project & maintenance progress, milestones, and KPIs.
  • Use management tools and methodologies to monitor and manage maintenance status.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Science, Project Management).
  • Proven experience (5 years +) in operation management, project management, or related roles.
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skill, project management skills, including the ability to create maintenance plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and methodologies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address operation- related challenges.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to data center transitions.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Facilities and Operations.
