About the Role
As a Senior Procurement Strategist – Civil & Construction, you are responsible for developing and executing strategic procurement initiatives for civil, construction, maintenance, and new store development requirements. This role manages the sourcing of construction materials, contractors, and subcontractors to optimize cost, quality, project timelines, supplier performance, and overall business value.
What will you be doing
- Develop and implement category strategies for civil and construction procurement, including building materials, finishing materials, MEP-related materials, fixtures, equipment, and other project requirements.
- Manage procurement activities for new store openings, store renovation, refurbishment, expansion, relocation, and maintenance projects.
- Conduct market intelligence and industry benchmarking to identify competitive pricing, alternative materials, supplier capabilities, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFQ/RFP processes, tendering, supplier pre-qualification, bid evaluation, commercial comparison, negotiation, and contract award.
- Source, evaluate, and manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction material vendors based on capability, capacity, quality, pricing, project experience, and reliability.
- Lead commercial negotiations to secure competitive pricing, payment terms, lead times, warranties, service levels, project schedules, and contractual conditions.
- Analyze project and category spend to identify opportunities for cost reduction, standardization, value engineering, and procurement efficiency.
- Collaborate with Project and Engineering teams to evaluate Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material specifications, contractor quotations, and project cost estimates.
- Drive continuous improvement in civil and construction procurement processes, standards, and supplier management.
What do we look for
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Procurement (managing civil, construction, maintenance, or project procurement categories).
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contractor management, subcontractor management, category management, commercial negotiation, and contract management.
- Strong experience handling construction materials, civil works, contractors, subcontractors, and project-based procurement.
- Experience managing procurement for new store development, renovation, refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, or multi-site projects is highly preferred.
- Experience in Retail, FMCG, Consumer Goods, Property, Construction, Hospitality, E-Commerce, or related industries is preferred.
