About the Role

The Sr. OHS Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with applicable occupational health and safety regulations, mining safety requirements, and internal governance standards. This role supports the implementation of compliance programs through audits, assurance activities, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position works closely with operational teams, site OHS personnel, regulators, and external auditors to promote a strong culture of compliance and effective risk management across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable OHS regulations, SMKP Minerba requirements, company standards, and other legal obligations.
• Conduct compliance assessments, gap analyses, and reviews to evaluate adherence to regulatory and internal requirements.
• Plan and execute internal audits, assurance activities, and compliance reviews, including monitoring the closure of findings.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of new or revised requirements.
• Manage OHS compliance documentation, records, and evidence to support audits, inspections, and certifications.
• Develop and monitor OHS compliance KPIs, dashboards, and periodic management reports.
• Support incident investigations and ensure compliance-related issues are identified and addressed effectively.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, inspections, investigations, and regulatory findings.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site OHS teams and operational functions on compliance matters.
• Liaise with regulators, external auditors, and relevant stakeholders during audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen OHS compliance performance and governance practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), compliance management, or regulatory compliance, preferably within the mining industry or other high-risk industries.
• Proven experience in managing compliance with mining safety regulations, SMKP Minerba, and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Experience in conducting internal audits, compliance reviews, assurance activities, and regulatory assessments.
• Experience working with regulators, external auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of mining OHS regulations, SMKP Minerba, and occupational health and safety management principles.
• Solid understanding of compliance management, governance, risk management, and assurance processes.
• Strong auditing, investigation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify compliance risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency in compliance reporting, KPI management, and data analysis.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple sites and functions.
