Some of your duties will include:
Metallurgical Project Management
- Lead, coordinate, and monitor metallurgical projects to ensure alignment with operational goals and business objectives.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and implementation plans.
- Design and execute metallurgical improvement projects focused on process optimization, recovery enhancement, plant efficiency, and new technology implementation.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
- Evaluate project outcomes and implement recommendations to maximize operational performance and value creation.
- Manage technical studies, pilot trials, and strategic initiatives supporting fixed plant operations.
Production Accounting & Metal Accounting
- Lead and oversee production accounting processes and systems across operations.
- Ensure accurate metal balance calculations, reconciliation activities, and reporting of metallurgical performance data.
- Validate production accounting methodologies and ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Analyze metallurgical accounting variances and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks to support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate periodic audits and reviews of production accounting systems and data integrity.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Projects, Geology, Mine Planning, and other stakeholders to integrate metallurgical accounting with production forecasts and business plans.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations related to metallurgical performance, production accounting, and process optimization.
- Support business improvement initiatives through data analysis, reporting, and project execution.
- Ensure effective communication of project progress, risks, and accounting performance to management.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support departmental strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.
- Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by management.
What skills and experience do you need
Education
Minimum Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience within the mineral processing industry.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and project execution.
- Strong knowledge of mineral processing operations and metallurgical processes.
- Experience in production accounting and metal accounting systems.
- Experience formulating, planning, and managing complex projects and improvement programs.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams within mining and mineral processing environments.
Technical Competencies
- Ability to lead and manage metallurgical projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution capabilities.
- Advanced understanding of metallurgical engineering principles and mineral processing operations.
- Competence in production accounting, metal balance, and reconciliation methodologies.
- Ability to perform data analysis, variance investigation, and performance reporting.
- Knowledge of process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of engineering, risk management, and HSEQ standards.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and present recommendations to management.
- Proficiency in metallurgical data management and reporting systems.
