Role Description

We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef Bakery for a full-time, on-site role at The Sakala Resort Bali in Bali, Indonesia. The Sous Chef Bakery will support the Head Chef in preparing and executing all bakery related operations to meet the resort's top-tier culinary standards. Responsibilities include supervising daily bakery production, managing ingredient inventories, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety regulations, training and mentoring junior staff, and innovating recipes with creative flair while maintaining consistency in product quality.

Qualifications

  • Domicile in Bali is preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in the same position at 5-star Hotel.
  • Expertise in baking techniques, dessert preparation, and high-quality pastry presentation
  • Experience in kitchen management, including staff training, task delegation, and maintaining operational efficiency
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and inventory management
  • Strong creative skills for developing and innovating bakery offerings
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Proven professional experience in a high-end hotel or resort setting
  • Culinary certification or equivalent training in baking and pastry arts
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus
