Apex Sports Village is currently building a dynamic sports and wellness destination in Uluwatu. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef who specializes in a broad range of cuisine to support our culinary operations and help create nutritious, high-quality dining experiences for athletes and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
- Can develop and execute vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and high-protein menu options
- Ensure high standards in food preparation, portioning, plating, and presentation
- Supervise and guide line cooks and kitchen staff
- Maintain kitchen workflow efficiency, especially during peak service hours
- Monitor inventory, food costing, and stock control
- Ensure compliance with HACCP standards and food safety regulations
- Assist in menu planning for special events and catering functions
- Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen team members
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in professional kitchens
- At least 2 years experience in a supervisory role (Sous Chef / Senior CDP)
- Experience in health-focused restaurants, wellness resorts, sports facilities, or plant-based concepts is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of international cuisine and healthy menu preparation (low-fat, high-protein, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free)
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, inventory control, and cost management
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Creative in menu development and passionate about healthy dining concepts
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
