Purpose of the Role
The
Sourcing Unit Planner ensures uninterrupted factory operations by planning material availability and managing warehouse operations to support production schedules. This role directly impacts
On-Time Delivery (OTD), inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency, while serving as a key liaison between production, procurement, and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Material Management
- Develop and maintain short- and medium-term production plans aligned with demand forecasts.
- Ensure timely availability of raw and packaging materials to avoid factory downtime.
- Monitor stock levels and implement actions to prevent overstock or stock-outs.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee daily warehouse activities to ensure smooth inbound and outbound material flow.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO, safety standards, and proper storage conditions.
- Coordinate with warehouse team for accurate receiving, storage, and dispatch of materials.
- Support cycle counting and maintain inventory accuracy in ERP/SAP.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate proactively on risks, delays, and mitigation plans.
System & Data Management
- Utilize ERP/SAP for planning, inventory tracking, and reporting.
- Prepare and analyze planning and warehouse performance reports using Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process gaps and propose improvements to enhance planning and warehouse efficiency.
- Support lean manufacturing and cost optimization initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain planning and warehouse operations within FMCG or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in ERP/SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of MRP, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments.
