Role Overview
Behind every trusted investment platform and seamless mobile experience is a detail-oriented Software QA Engineer. We're hiring our first QA Engineer in Jakarta to help ensure the quality, reliability, and integrity of the Simpan app ecosystem.
Our mobile application is central to how users interact with Simpan, while our internal backoffice tools power critical operational and data workflows behind the scenes. As our QA Engineer, you won't just test featuresyou will play a foundational role in shaping QA standards, processes, and long-term quality practices across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manually test the Simpan mobile application across all user flows, including onboarding, transactions, account management, and edge cases.
- Test internal Backoffice tools used by operations and internal staff, ensuring accuracy, stability, and data integrity between systems.
- Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test cases and test scenarios for new features, bug fixes, and releases.
- Perform functional and regression testing to ensure new changes do not impact existing behavior.
- Identify, document, and track bugs clearly, working closely with developers and product managers through to resolution.
- Actively participate in product and requirement discussions to help define test coverage early.
- Support UAT and pre-release validation and assist in investigating production issues when needed.
- Help establish QA workflows, documentation, and best practices.
- Proactively propose and initiate ideas for test automation and scalable QA practices to continuously improve product quality and user experience over time.
- Prepare reports on test results and release quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 23 years of experience in software QA, with a strong focus on manual testing.
- Comfortable being hands-on with end-to-end testing of mobile applications and internal tools.
- Experience testing mobile apps (iOS/Android) and complex user flows is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman; basic understanding of APIs and data flows.
- Exposure to automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and a strong interest in gradually introducing automation.
- Understanding of regression testing concepts and release validation.
- Familiarity with SQL, data validation, or backend systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and clear communication skills.
- Able to work independently, take ownership, and proactively propose improvements in a fast-paced environment.
