Role Description

This full-time, on-site Software Engineer role is based in Bali, Indonesia. You will own the technical side of connecting the point-of-sale and operational systems our business units use today with AI-powered features and a customer loyalty and rewards program currently being planned.

Our current systems include VHP (hotels), Guest Pro (Chillhouse), I-Clinic (BBC) and Moka (BCC).

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Integrating these systems with AI tools (for example, sales insights, recommendations and automated reporting) and with the upcoming points and rewards program.
• Designing, building and maintaining back-end services and APIs that connect POS, customer data and loyalty features across multiple business units.
• Writing clean, tested code, reviewing code, and optimizing system performance, reliability and security.
• Working with business unit teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Taking part in the full software development lifecycle, from planning and development to deployment and monitoring.
• Documenting technical work, supporting troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• Contributing to continuous improvement, including introducing practical automation and AI use cases that help our teams work better.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency in programming, with hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade applications.
• Experience in back-end development, including API design, third-party integrations (REST, webhooks), database integration, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their application in modern programming languages.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows, including code review and automated testing.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and basic knowledge of cloud or server deployment environments.
• Understanding of data security and privacy basics, especially when handling customer and transaction data.
• Ability to work on-site in Bali, collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and communicate clearly in English.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
