Software Development Engineer

What you'll do

• Work on real, scoped pieces of features in claims, wallet, subscriptions, provider network or payments
• Design a small schema and API, walk your mentor through it, then build it
• Write tested Java (Spring Boot) code, plus the occasional React screen or Node endpoint
• Check the dashboard after your release and debug your own bugs first
• Shadow the on-call rotation
• Ship one feature end to end and present it to the team

What we're looking for

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Engineering or a related field, and available for all 6 months
• Solid Java, data structures and algorithms, SQL, and CS fundamentals (OOP, concurrency, HTTP)
• Git and the habit of small, readable commits
• Basic understanding of Kafka, event-driven systems, and monitoring and observability
• Daily use of AI tools like Copilot, Claude or ChatGPT, and you can explain every line you ship
• Clear communication

Bonus points for

• A project that people other than you actually used
• Spring Boot, React, Node or TypeScript
• Docker, CI or cloud experience
• Something built with an LLM API
• Open-source work, competitive programming or a portfolio
• Any healthcare, insurance or fintech exposure
