The Opportunity
We're looking for a Social Media Strategist & Content Designer to build and grow the AI-Powered Photographer brand—a content platform educating photographers on how to use AI and technology to work smarter, respond faster, and earn more.
This is an end‑to‑end role.
You will own the strategy, content plan, creative direction, and execution across social channels.
You'll work directly with the founders to turn ideas, product insights, customer stories, and workshops into a clear social media strategy and a consistent stream of high‑quality content that drives reach, engagement, and inbound interest from photographers.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys:

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Content Planning
- Develop and own the social media strategy for the AI-Powered Photographer brand across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
- Define clear content pillars, target audience, positioning, and channel goals (reach, engagement, subscriber/follower growth, leads).
- Build and manage a monthly content calendar that aligns with product priorities, launches, and key campaigns.
- Turn product workflows, customer success stories, industry trends, and founder ideas into structured content series and repeatable formats.
2. Social Media Management & Growth
- Own day‑to‑day management of our social channels: publishing, scheduling, and community engagement.
- Optimize content per platform best practices (timing, hooks, formats, hashtags, descriptions, and CTAs).
- Identify opportunities to tap into trends, collaborations, and UGC from photographers.
- Ensure a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all platforms.
3. Visual Design & Content Packaging
- Design social assets including thumbnails, carousels, posts, and simple graphics that improve click‑through and retention.
- Develop and maintain a cohesive visual system for the AI-Powered Photographer brand (colors, typography, layouts, templates).
- Craft compelling hooks, titles, and covers that make content stand out in feeds and on YouTube.
- Package complex ideas into clear, visually engaging content (slides, diagrams, overlays).
4. Video Creation & Editing
- Produce and edit both long‑form and short‑form video content:
- YouTube episodes, tutorials, screen recordings, founder‑led videos, case studies, and customer interviews.
- Short‑form vertical content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Turn one core piece of content into multiple platform‑specific assets (full video → clips → teaser edits → social cutdowns).
- Add subtitles, captions, simple motion graphics, and basic animations to improve clarity and retention.
- Ensure content quality while still maintaining a fast production rhythm.
5. Performance, Analytics & Iteration
- Track key metrics weekly and monthly: views, watch time, retention, CTR, engagement, subscriber/follower growth, and inbound interest from photographers.
- Identify top‑performing topics, formats, and hooks, and use those insights to refine the strategy and content calendar.
- Run simple A/B tests on thumbnails, titles, hooks, and post structures to improve performance.
- Build and document a content system and workflow that becomes more scalable over time.
6. Collaboration & Customer Insight
- Work closely with founders to understand product roadmap, customer insights, and business goals.
- Turn real photographer pain points and FAQs into educational, problem‑solving content.
- Collaborate on workshops, webinars, and events, and repurpose them into content assets.
- Bring new ideas to the table for content series, creative formats, and channel growth experiments.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in social media, content strategy, content creation, or a related role (agency, startup, or creator environment).
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute social media strategies end to end (from idea → plan → content → publish → analyze).
- Strong design sense for social media (thumbnails, carousels, layouts, visual hierarchy, brand consistency).
- Hands‑on video editing skills using tools like Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar.
- Good understanding of how content performs on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok (algorithms, formats, hooks, retention).
- Strong written English for captions, scripts, titles, and descriptions.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑moving startup environment.
- Comfortable working directly with a founder and turning rough ideas into structured plans and polished outputs.
Bonus
- Experience in photography, creator tools, SaaS, AI products, or event‑related industries.
- Experience growing or managing a YouTube channel or social accounts (personal or brand).
- Familiarity with tools like Canva, Figma, Descript, Notion, Asana, or Frame.io.
- Experience creating educational, tutorial, or business‑focused content.
- Interest in helping photographers grow through practical technology and AI adoption.
