Job Description

Job Summary:

An SMT Engineer is a professional technical role responsible for end-to-end management of surface mount technology processes. The scope of responsibilities includes material planning, equipment operation and management, and process quality monitoring. This position also involves both technical execution and process optimization, covering the full lifecycle management of electronic component placement production.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for SMT program debugging, preparing production process flow documents, and establishing process specifications.
  • Responsible for SMT process optimization and efficiency improvement, resolving production abnormalities, analyzing and improving product quality issues, and ensuring stable SMT line operation.
  • Responsible for the design and optimization of key processes, including stencils, fixtures, reflow profiles, and solder paste.
  • Assist Quality and Production teams in identifying and analyzing manufacturing quality issues, and support preventive and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for training SMT technicians and standardizing process operations.
  • Responsible for regular reviews with customers on reports such as MIL, PM, FMEA, CPP, QCP, and FACAR.
  • Familiar with the operation of JUKI pick-and-place machines, Jet AOI, and SPI equipment.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • D4/Bachelor's degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operating SMT equipment (such as pick-and-place machines, printers, and reflow ovens).
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English; Mandarin is a plus
  • Able to identify common electronic components (for example, distinguishing between 0201 and 0402 package differences) and understand the temperature profiles used in BGA reballing processes.
  • Proficient in using professional software such as Enterprise3000, CAM350, and eMTest.
  • At least two years of experience in a PCB/PCBA manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with AOI, AXI, and ICT testing and result interpretation.
  • Candidates with experience in NPI, pilot runs, and mass production support are preferred.
