Job Description

The purpose of this position is:

Monitor, improve, and maintain day-to-day activities in Inventory Control to ensure that inventory data is accurate, proper quantities of inventory are ordered at the right time, right place and right price, and that review of inventory management is performed as efficient manner as possible.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Act as a main point of contact in responding to offsite and onsite inquiries relative to materials and provide information, and decisions.
  • Perform final review of consignment invoices to ensure the transactions are correct and charges are allocated correctly for General Superintendent/Department Head approval.
  • Monitor daily inventory control activities (stock adjustment process, rop/max order level changes, warehouse transfer, update supplier and inventory data, review new warehouse stock requests in MDG, generate PO/recommended order, stock take, etc.) to ensure the procedures, including safety are followed and to meet department objective in cost efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly inventory movement report for department head's usage in analyzing performance of each warehouse.
  • Process Month-End Closing to provide cut off period for all transactions through SAP for the use of various departments.

The key challenges in this position include:


  • Build relationship with various levels of internal customers using appropriate approach techniques and strive for high level of customer service.
  • Build understanding and coordination with customers by convincing them about the importance of making stock adjustment (including rop/max order level, obsolete items) and explaining the impacts to PTFI operations.
  • Develop customer trust in the Supply Chain group by being continually available for questions and support relative to inventory related issues.
  • The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:Minimum Education and Experience S1 Degree in Engineering or Management with minimum of 5 years of working experience in inventory control or related supply chain discipline.
