Role Description
- Architect, provision, and maintain resilient cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, with a strong preference for Terraform.
- Manage and scale modern cloud-native workloads using Kubernetes (GKE), including standardizing application deployments and configurations using Helm to ensure consistency across environments.
- Drive cost optimization and efficiency by monitoring resource utilization, analyzing cloud spend, and rightsizing infrastructure to maximize business value.
- Develop custom automation scripts and internal tools using Python or Bash to eliminate toil and streamline operational tasks.
- Develop and refine comprehensive monitoring dashboards and observability frameworks, with a strong preference for the Grafana Stack and Sentry for proactive error tracking.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts across distributed systems, performing root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence and improve system stability.
- Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines and frameworks to ensure seamless, low-risk software delivery cycles.
- Collaborate with software engineers to make services highly available, reliable, and scalable by defining and tracking key reliability metrics.
- Conduct regular architectural reviews and performance tuning to identify bottlenecks and suggest system improvements.
- Evaluate new technology options and products, making pragmatic choices that deliver maximum business value and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Significant experience as an SRE or similar role in a production cloud environment, specifically within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Professional cloud certifications (e.g., Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect) are considered a strong plus.
- Strong expertise in cloud-native technologies, including hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and package management using Helm.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a strong preference for Terraform.
- Strong programming and scripting skills, with the ability to write automation scripts in Python or Bash.
- Demonstrated experience with observability tools, with a strong preference for the Grafana Stack and Sentry.
- Strong understanding of the principles and best practices of Software Engineering.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with an analytic and qualitative eye for reasoning under pressure.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to relocate to Pekanbaru for two months during the probation period.
