Job Overview:

The Senior Warehouseman is responsible for efficient and effective control of Project Materials, Equipment, processes and documentation in a timely manner and within the parameters of and in compliance with McDermott Global Operating and Quality Procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for Project Materials and Consumables receiving, checking, location allocation, Inventory, preservation and issuing.
  • Ensure that offloading, put-away, picking, and packing process for Project Materials and consumables are performed efficiently and in a safe manner.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat and tidy.
  • Perform daily housekeeping activity prior to shift start and end of shift.
  • Communicate & provide reports such as daily, weekly activity report, etc. to the Foreman/supervisors as and when required in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Unloading/Loading/Transporting:
    • Offload and count boxes/packages to match with Delivery Note.
    • Acknowledge the number of Delivery Notes received on the Delivery/Inward Control Slip.
    • Assign Subject to Check stamp on Delivery Note with receivers Signature and date.
    • All packages received to be individually numbered with date. Example - 1of4, 2of4, 3of4 and 4of4.
    • Inform Foreman/Supervisor coordinator of any damages/discrepancies of packages not matching with the Delivery Note.
    • Asses the material condition before offloading
    • Do and assist standard rigging activities related to materials handling. This activity must have a required competency or training e.g. Rigging Training stage 1 & 2, K3 Rigging
    • When required by the supervisor, the employee shall be capable of operating materials handling equipment/vehicles, subject to possession of a valid license and completion of appropriate training. E.g. Forklift, Overhead Crane, Trailer, Truck, etc .
  • Physical check:
    • Recount packages to match with Delivery Note.
    • Ensure availability of project Signage and Receiving in Progress boards.
    • Open Packages or obtain facilities support if required for special items.
    • For Equipment and Packages:
      • Obtain permission from foreman/supervisor prior opening aluminum foiled/hermitically sealed packages.
      • Inspect physical condition and count accessories to match Delivery Note.
      • Inform supervisor/foreman for instances where shock cell indicator on packages are activated. (red)
    • For bulk items - Inspect grade, physical condition and quantity.
    • For Chemicals – Check physical condition, quantity, expiry dates and ensure MSDS are received.
    • Highlight any OS&D's (Overage/Shortages & Discrepancies).
    • Add any extra items found to the check list or additional details not in the Delivery Note
    • Apply Color Code (Project & Grade color).
    • Write Materials Traceability numbers and the Carbon Equivalent delivery condition on materials, as applicable
    • Physically locate items in dedicated project storage locations
    • Forward completed checklists to Foreman/QC for further processing.
  • Material Issuing
    • Withdraw items/materials from locations as per pick ticket and keep ready for delivery in Issue area.
    • Verify withdrawn materials/items as per the pick ticket, prior assigning to delivery pallet/location.
    • Ensure material deliveries by Warehouse/Rigging to end users are sent with acknowledgement slip.
    • Ensure End User receives the items by acknowledging the delivery Sheets Subject to Check.
    • Collect the original MIR acknowledged by end user with 24 hours, after completion of the delivery
  • Inventory
    • Carry out physical inventory of surplus materials on completion of projects as per instructions from Foreman.
    • Segregate materials for disposal and allocate materials in correct binning location for retentions.
    • Load materials as per work orders.
  • Plan storage of material based on expediting report provided by Foreman/Supervisor
  • Warehouse operations is accurate, timely documented and complete.
  • Ensure all the project designated sign boards are placed all the times for all materials.
  • Ensure strict compliance to McDermott procedures and policies.
  • Ensure all reporting duty timings are followed, including break timings.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • High school / ITI or 3 years relevant experience.
  • Specific Industry Training, Knowledge of warehouse operations or construction background.
  • Prefer holding K3 Trainer Operator (SIM B2) especially for material laydown activities.
  • Good command of Bahasa
  • Computer literate, proficient in the use of spreadsheets and Material Management software
  • Ability to read and write reports
  • Capable of working under pressure, cooperating with team, led by example, handling high volumes of work and balancing conflicting demands in a timely manner whilst constantly meeting deadlines and targets.
  • Will be self-motivated, highly focused, driven by results and able to demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills and pay attention to detail while operating with flexibility and adaptability.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills, familiar with materials, specifications and Materials Management systems.
