Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations, technical development, and innovation in drone technology. This role is responsible for managing engineering teams, establishing technical standards and processes, ensuring fleet reliability, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.
We are looking for a proactive leader who can think strategically, develop scalable processes, identify and raise critical issues, and stay ahead of emerging drone technologies and industry trends.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering teams, technical operations, and R&D initiatives.
- Develop and improve engineering processes, SOPs, and maintenance standards.
- Oversee maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and performance of drones, batteries, gensets, and supporting equipment.
- Manage technical audits, quality assurance, and continuous improvement programs.
- Lead training and capability development for pilots, engineers, and technical teams.
- Oversee technical claims, customer trials, and technical support activities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Management on technical decisions and project execution.
- Monitor engineering KPIs, prepare technical reports, and ensure operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within the drone industry.
- Strong knowledge of drone systems, flight controllers, electronics, and agriculture drone operations.
- Proficient in QGroundControl, Mission Planner, or similar flight control software.
- Experience with custom-built drones, maintenance management, and technical audits.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to develop processes, drive improvements, and manage technical teams.
- High initiative, ownership, and ability to proactively identify and escalate issues.
- Passionate about technology and actively keeps up with advancements in drone and automation technologies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willing to travel and work on-site when required.
