We Are Looking For
As the Senior Technical Manager, you will report to the Operations Director to support the Data Center operations team. You will be responsible for managing the technical operations and maintenance of our data center facilities. You are accountable for ensuring the availability, reliability, and efficiency of our data center infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, power, cooling, and security systems. You will be supervising a team of technical professionals and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in delivering high quality data center services.
To succeed in this role, you should have extensive knowledge in Data Center relevant mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the overall technical operations of the data center facility to support smooth operations and adherence to agreed SLAs.
- Lead a team of technical professionals to run the data center operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for data center operations, including change management, incident response, and disaster recovery.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of data center infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and power/cooling systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement data center expansions, upgrades, and migrations while minimizing downtime and service interruptions.
- Monitor and analyse data center performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Continuously track and evaluate data center capacity, leveraging trend analysis and usage insights to predict resource demands for Data center performance optimization program.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize data center performance, enhance operational efficiency, and implement industry best practices.
- Develop and oversee the data center budget, ensuring cost-efficient operations while maintaining required performance and reliability standards.
- Create and manage targeted training programs for technical, SME, and CFM teams, ensuring they possess the skills, knowledge, and operational competencies required for highperformance data center operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, service providers, and equipment manufacturers to ensure timely support and resolution of technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with data center security standards, including physical security, access controls, and data privacy regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering/ building services/ facilities management or equivalent.
- Proven minimum 10 years of experience in data center operations and critical infrastructure systems, with a focus on mission critical environments.
- Solid understanding of data center design principles, including redundancy, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, such as Uptime Institute's Tier Classification System, ITIL, and BICSI standards.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word, BMS and CMMS/DCIM.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in high pressure situations.
Other Added Advantage
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP), or similar.
