Job Description
Experience hands on Taxation issue around life insurance is a mandatory.
The taxation issues around life insurance, investments, policyholders, agents/distribution, VAT/WHT, corporate income tax, employee/director remuneration, and related-party transactions make the environment considerably more specialized than ordinary corporate tax.
Job Descriptions:
- Corporate Tax Compliance: Strong knowledge of Indonesian corporate income tax, withholding taxes, VAT, employee taxation, annual/monthly tax returns, tax reconciliation and tax provisioning.
- Tax Accounting & Reporting: Ability to manage current and deferred tax calculations, tax provisions, tax reconciliation, financial-statement tax disclosures and coordination with Finance/Accounting.
- Insurance Taxation: Understanding of tax treatment relevant to life insurance products and premiums; claims and policyholder-related transactions; investment income; insurance agents and commissions; bancassurance/distribution arrangements; employee and Director remuneration; vendor and service arrangements.
- Tax Audit & Dispute Management: This one I would make important for Avrist. The person should be able to independently manage SP2, tax audits, objections, appeals, requests for information/clarification, and correspondence with DJP, including working with external tax advisers when necessary.
- Tax Risk & Governance: Able to identify tax exposures before they become findings—not merely calculate and submit taxes. This includes maintaining proper documentation, controls, SOPs and tax-risk registers.
- Tax Planning & Advisory: Able to advise management on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions, while maintaining appropriate compliance and governance boundaries.
- Transfer Pricing & Related-Party Transactions: Knowledge of arm's-length principles, transfer-pricing documentation and intercompany/related-party arrangements. Particularly relevant if Avrist has transactions across the wider group.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Strong working knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations and ability to translate regulatory changes into operational implications for Finance, HC, Procurement, Legal and other functions.
Job Requirements:
- 12–15+ years of total professional experience, with 10+ years of experience in Tax
- 5+ years of experience in Financial Services/Insurance is strongly preferred
- 4–5 years of managerial experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field
- Brevet A & B certification required; Brevet C is strongly preferred
- Prior experience as a Tax Consultant and/or a Big 4 background is strongly preferred
