Senior Staff Engineer - Custom Design Automation

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will help develop the industry's first AI-driven semiconductor design workflow. Unlike traditional CAD flows, this next-gen workflow integrates automation, AI, and human expertise to enhance design efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and improve quality. You'll drive the architecture and deployment of automation tools for Analog/RF/SiPh designs, leveraging state-of-the-art EDA software and AI techniques.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver on OKRs and project milestones.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
• Architect and implement end-to-end automation for Analog/RF/SiPh designs.
• Deploy cutting-edge design flows, automation, and AI solutions, ensuring team adoption.
• Develop dashboards to track design workflow compliance and identify inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with Scalable Design Solutions teams to create reproducible, end-to-end automation solutions.

Other Responsibilities

• Ensure safe work practices and compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Design, CAD, PDK, Silicon Validation, and EDA vendors.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (15+ years), Master's degree (12+ years), or PhD (10+ years) in Electronics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• 4+ years of experience in Skill-based automation using Cadence Virtuoso or similar tools.
• 5+ years of experience in Python-based automation.
• 2+ years of experience with Spice simulations, Monte Carlo analysis, and setup.
• 2+ years of experience in design signoff steps (DRC, LVS, PEX, FILL, PERC, DFM).
• 2+ years of experience with design version control systems.
• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML, including reinforcement learning, pipelines, and transformers.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL or similar databases.
• Fluent in English (written & verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in AI/ML and database architecture.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and foster collaboration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
