Job Description

Working Location: Site Based – West Sumbawa

Working Schedule: Regular working days 5:2 (Monday-Friday)

Some of your duties will include:

Project Planning & Engineering Management

  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work to ensure full technical understanding.
  • Lead constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Develop and manage method statements, work procedures, and technical submittals.
  • Support the Project Manager in developing project execution plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures (WBS).

Construction Execution & Coordination

  • Coordinate daily engineering and site activities to ensure alignment with approved drawings and schedules.
  • Interface with site construction teams to resolve technical issues and design conflicts.
  • Monitor work progress against the project schedule and identify potential delays or risks.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved shop drawings, method statements, and quality standards.

Cost Control & Budget Support

  • Assist in cost control by tracking quantities, material usage, and productivity.
  • Support preparation of variation orders, change requests, and claims with technical justification.
  • Review subcontractor quotations and technical compliance during procurement and subcontracting phases.
  • Provide technical input for monthly progress reports and earned value analysis.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)

  • Ensure all works comply with project specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, tests, and approvals with QA/QC teams and consultants.
  • Review and close non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance

  • Ensure engineering designs and construction methods comply with HSE requirements.
  • Participate in risk assessments, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and method statement approvals.
  • Support the implementation of safety plans and incident prevention measures.

Stakeholder & Interface Management

  • Act as the primary technical interface between the client, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Attend coordination meetings, technical workshops, and progress meetings.
  • Respond to RFIs and technical queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing Site Leaders expectations and maintaining strong relationships with User Department Managers.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and guide Project Controllers, Supervisors, and junior technical staff.
  • Allocate engineering resources effectively to meet project priorities.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Support performance evaluations and training initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date engineering documentation, logs, and records.
  • Maintain RFI, submittal, drawing revision, and change control registers.
  • Prepare technical sections of project reports, including progress, risks, and lessons learned.
  • Support project close-out activities, including as-built drawings and handover documentation.

What skills and experience do you need

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Marine, Naval Architect, Structural, or related discipline)
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in project engineering, engineering design, or project development in mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, or EPC/EPCM environments with at least have 3 years of experience as Coordinator/ Sr Engineer Project.
  • Experience supporting capital projects or processing plant facilities is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills, including an understanding of mining and mineral processing facilities (such as crushing, grinding, flotation, tailings, utilities, and infrastructure systems), familiarity with engineering development stages from Conceptual Study through EPC, the ability to review engineering drawings such as PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications, and a solid grasp of project management principles covering scope, schedule, cost, and risk management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advantageous experience in project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project, and preferably familiar with engineering document control systems
  • Demonstrates strong core competencies, including technical engineering analysis, project coordination, effective problem‑solving and technical evaluation, collaborative stakeholder engagement, and solid planning and organizing abilities
  • Demonstrates key behavioral competencies, including building trust, fostering collaboration, driving results, applying analytical thinking, and supporting continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate
