Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer works alongside the Midstream Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee EPCIC execution for the Midstream Gas Processing, Pipeline, and Associated Facilities.
This role integrates engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, construction, commissioning, and regulatory activities. Key responsibilities include consolidating progress, managing interfaces, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment so that the EPCIC contractor delivers within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, HSE, and regulatory standards.
The position involves monitoring project progress, supporting design reviews, coordinating procurement and construction, local communities, and Indonesian authorities, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Based in Jakarta, the role requires frequent travel to overseas fabrication yards and project sites during critical phases.
Responsibilities
Project Execution & Governance
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, monitoring, and delivering EPCIC activities through PA.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, PMC, fabrication yards, logistics, and site teams.
- Ensure execution aligns with contracts, approved designs, objectives, and company policies.
Progress Reporting & Integration
- Consolidate weekly/monthly progress across engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, construction, and commissioning.
- Validate contractor reports against baselines.
- Identify deviations, bottlenecks, and critical path risks; support recovery planning.
- Prepare integrated dashboards and summaries for management.
Schedule & Project Control
- Work with Project Control and Planning teams to align deliverables with EPCIC schedules (Level 3/4).
- Support risk identification, look-ahead planning, and mitigation.
- Provide technical input for schedule updates, forecasts, and change assessments.
Cost, Risk & Change Management
- Provide inputs for cost forecasting and risk exposure.
- Maintain and update the Risk Register across all execution phases.
- Support evaluation of Variation Orders, change requests, and claims.
Engineering & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate multidisciplinary deliverables and review designs/documents for compliance.
- Support design reviews, constructability assessments, and technical clarifications.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical queries, field changes, and interface issues.
Procurement, Fabrication & Logistics
- Support procurement activities including MTO reviews and bid evaluations.
- Monitor fabrication, modularization, and logistics, including overseas yards.
- Align fabrication readiness, logistics, and site installation sequencing.
Construction & Commissioning
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
- Ensure engineering intent, system completion priorities, and handover requirements.
- Support punch list management, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and PA closeout.
HSE, Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE, company standards, and Indonesian regulations.
- Coordinate with authorities and permitting teams.
- Promote safety culture and quality execution.
- Monitor ESG, permitting, and external affairs reporting.
Documentation & Management Support
- Prepare technical inputs for reports, presentations, and decision materials.
- Support project close-out, lessons learned, and handover documentation.

- Internal: Project Manager, Deputy PM, Site Representative, Construction Manager, Senior Engineers, Project Control, Planning, Cost Control, Contracts & Procurement, HSE, QA/QC, Commissioning, External Affairs.
Essential Skills & Software
- Experience in full-cycle EPCIC projects > USD 300M.
- Proficiency with engineering/construction software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, OMEGA, SAP, Primavera, WinPCS).
- Knowledge of cost estimation and budgeting.
Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 12 years experience in engineering/project execution, preferably EPC/EPCIC in oil & gas, LNG, or industrial plants.
- Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of gas processing/LNG facilities, engineering design, and industry standards (API, ASME, IEC).
- Proven multidisciplinary coordination across EPCIC phases.
- Experience managing interfaces with contractors, vendors, PMC, and clients.
- Familiarity with fabrication, modularization, logistics, and overseas yards.
- Understanding of construction methods, system completion, and handover.
- Proficiency in project management/document control tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, Aconex).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid grasp of HSE and regulatory compliance.
- Willingness to travel to fabrication yards and project sites.
