Job Overview:
The Senior Production Tech completes various Production assignments as needed and can complete work with limited supervision. They are an informal resource for colleagues with less Production experience. The Senior Production Tech has developed proficiency in various analytical processes or procedures for assigned tasks. They provide solutions to problems in atypical or infrequently occurring situations based on existing precedents or procedures. They directly impact the quality of the work of the team
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the production team to ensure smooth and efficient operations, and adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, and subcontractors, to develop and implement production plans, schedules, and budgets
- Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to meet project milestones
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications
- Conduct regular inspections, both internal and external, to verify compliance with established quality requirements
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis for any production-related issues or non-conformities, implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Identify areas of improvement in production processes, equipment, tools, and techniques, recommend feasible solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lean manufacturing principles and encouraging the adoption of innovative technologies
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, guidelines, and best practices, fostering a safe work environment for all production personnel
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, and address any identified hazards or non-compliance issues promptly
- Promote effective communication and training programs to enhance HSE awareness among production employees
- Ensure necessary documentation and compliance to procedural requirements throughout the project phases
- Conduct user training and develop user/admin training materials
- Has advanced depth of expertise in analytical and operational process by job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
- Completes assignments and directs the work activities of others; expected to coordinate work beyond own area
- Solves unique and complex problems with project data management
- Exchanges ideas and information effectively
- Assists the discipline (Piping, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical) production engineering team to meet project fabrication and construction requirements
- Support project team with system setup, functional reporting, fabrication sequence, path of construction review, constructability on a discipline level etc.
- Engineering data mapping, attributes management, and reporting
- Manage interfaces with external systems such as project schedule, material management, document management, commissioning etc.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
- Support the Fabrication Bid coordination efforts with review of 3D model attributes and mapping
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Diploma in Science, Engineering, or Computer Science
- Over 5-8 years in Petrochemical/Oil & Gas/Marine/Similar Fabrication/Construction industry as fabrication and construction management systems admin
- Proficient in using industry-standard software and tools
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading production teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Knowledge of quality management systems and processes, with experience in conducting inspections and audits
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
