Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
To ensure success as a PHP developer, you should have in-depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming, understanding of MVC designs, and working knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3.
Senior PHP Web Developer Responsibilities
- Conducting analysis of website and application requirements
- Writing well designed, testable, efficient PHP modules by using best development practices
- Integrating data from various back-end services and databases
- Troubleshooting application and code issues
- Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent
- Responding to integration requests from front-end developers
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
Senior PHP Web Developer Requirements
- A minimum of 2 – 4 years experience in web development
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar field
- Knowledge of PHP web frameworks including Laravel, Symphony, CakePHP or CodeIgniter
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Good problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
- Proficient with code versioning tools like Git or SVN
