Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Consulting Engineer specialising in Data Centre Networking and Cisco ACI to provide technical leadership, architecture, implementation, migration and advanced troubleshooting support for complex enterprise and mission-critical customer environments.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, working closely with customer engineering teams, solution architects, project teams and regional/global technical specialists.
This is a senior hands-on consulting position requiring strong experience across Cisco ACI, Nexus Data Centre platforms, VXLAN EVPN and advanced routing technologies, together with the ability to independently lead complex Data Centre transformation and migration projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, migration, optimisation and troubleshooting of Cisco ACI Data Centre environments.
- Provide technical architecture and consulting for greenfield and brownfield Data Centre transformation projects.
- Design and implement Cisco ACI architectures including:
- Single-Site
- Multi-Pod
- Multi-Site
- Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator / NDO
- Perform hands-on Cisco APIC configuration including:
- Tenants
- VRFs
- Bridge Domains
- Application Profiles
- EPGs
- Contracts
- L3Out
- External connectivity and routing
- Design and support Cisco Nexus 9000 / NX-OS Data Centre environments.
- Implement and troubleshoot VXLAN EVPN, Spine-Leaf architecture, vPC and Data Centre Interconnect technologies.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis for complex production incidents.
- Lead Data Centre migrations, technology refreshes, fabric upgrades and network cutovers with minimal service disruption.
- Develop and review:
- High-Level Design (HLD)
- Low-Level Design (LLD)
- Method of Procedure (MOP)
- Implementation plans
- Migration and cutover plans
- Rollback plans
- UAT / acceptance documents
- RCA and optimisation reports
- Lead technical discussions, design reviews and solution validation sessions with customers.
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support to L1/L2/L3 engineers.
- Work closely with Cisco regional/global engineering and support teams on complex technical issues.
- Support knowledge transfer, technical workshops and customer enablement sessions.
- Identify infrastructure risks and provide recommendations on resiliency, scalability, performance and best practices.
Required Technical Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of network engineering / consulting experience, with substantial experience in enterprise or Data Centre environments.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing Cisco ACI.
- Deep understanding of:

- Strong Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking knowledge including:

- HSRP / VRRP
- Route redistribution and traffic engineering
- Proven experience with production Data Centre migrations, upgrades and complex troubleshooting.
- Strong experience preparing HLD, LLD, MOP, migration plans and implementation documentation.
- Strong customer-facing consulting and presentation skills.
- Ability to independently analyse complex problems and provide architectural and technical recommendations.
Highly Preferred
- CCIE Data Center.
- CCNP Data Center or Cisco Data Center specialist certifications.
- Cisco ACI Implementation certification.
- Experience supporting banking, financial services, telecommunications or other mission-critical environments.
- Experience with Cisco UCS and MDS / storage networking.
- Knowledge of F5, Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower or other L4-L7 Data Centre services.
- Experience integrating cloud platforms with Data Centre environments.
- Network automation experience using Python, Ansible, REST API or similar tools.
- Experience with Cisco NDFC / Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller.
Candidate Profile
We are particularly interested in engineers who have personally designed, configured and implemented Cisco ACI, rather than candidates whose exposure has been limited to monitoring or general operational support.
You should be comfortable explaining and troubleshooting ACI architecture at a detailed level and be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with APIC policies, Tenant/VRF/BD/EPG design, Contracts, L3Out, Multi-Pod/Multi-Site and Nexus Data Centre networking.
The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise, hands-on implementation capability and strong customer consulting skills to operate as a senior technical authority for complex Data Centre environments.
