OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Manager leads all mechanical engineering activities on the Data Center programme in Indonesia. This role provides technical oversight across HVAC/cooling systems, plumbing, fire suppression, and associated mechanical infrastructure for DC1 and DC2, ensuring that installations meet Data Center specifications, design intent, and Indonesian regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for all mechanical works including cooling, HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
- Review and approve contractor mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Supervise Mechanical Supervisors and manage the quality of mechanical installations.
- Coordinate mechanical system interfaces with electrical, ELV, and civil teams.
- Review and approve mechanical ITPs, method statements, and commissioning test scripts.
- Monitor mechanical construction progress against the master programme schedule.
- Resolve technical issues, RFIs, and design queries from mechanical contractors.
- Ensure critical cooling infrastructure (chillers, AHUs, CRAHs, cooling towers) is installed as per specification.
- Coordinate with the Commissioning Manager for mechanical pre-commissioning and functional testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian mechanical/plumbing standards, ASHRAE, and Data Center requirements.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years in mechanical engineering on construction projects, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
- Expert knowledge of Data Center cooling systems including chilled water, air-cooled, and precision air systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, mechanical schematics, and equipment schedules.
- Familiarity with Indonesian mechanical standards, IMB, and fire suppression regulations.
- Strong experience coordinating MEP interfaces on complex, multi-contractor projects.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Chartered Engineer (PII or equivalent) preferred.
- Excellent technical leadership and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Experience with chiller plant, CRAH units, and precision cooling commissioning preferred.
