Senior Manager – Portfolio Development (Innovation)

About the Role
We are working with our client to help them with hiring a Senior Manager – Portfolio Development (Innovation) for a global organization operating in a highly regulated, product-driven environment.
This is a high-impact role focused on building and scaling product categories, driving innovation from concept to commercialization, and working closely with global stakeholders across multiple regions.
The position is based in Surabaya, Indonesia, which serves as a key innovation and manufacturing hub, bringing together R&D, pilot, and commercial capabilities in one location.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead innovation and new product development (NPD) from concept through to commercialization
- Drive portfolio and category strategy, including product roadmap, launches, and lifecycle management
- Translate consumer insights and market trends into viable product opportunities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, commercial, supply chain, operations) to deliver market-ready solutions
- Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders across Asia, Europe, and other markets
- Identify opportunities to expand into new categories and product segments
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and market-specific constraints
Candidate Profile
- 8–15 years of experience in innovation, product development, portfolio, or category management
- Strong background in regulated or complex product environments (e.g., tobacco, FMCG, consumer health, pharmaceuticals, materials)
- Proven experience in new product development and commercialization
- Exposure to regional or global roles with multi-market responsibility
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership experience
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

- Experience working in innovation-driven organizations with structured product pipelines
- Exposure to highly regulated industries
- Experience managing or influencing multi-market portfolios
