Adecco Group is currently supporting one of our Multinational Law Firm Clientin their search for Senior Lawyer located in Jakarta. This role will serve as a key legal advisor to clients and act as a critical bridge between the expatriate partner and the local legal landscape in Indonesia.
The Senior Lawyer will lead a team of junior lawyers, ensure high-quality legal deliverables, and provide expert guidance on Indonesian law to both clients and internal stakeholders, including supporting corporate structuring and regulatory compliance needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Advisory & Legal Expertise
- Act as a trusted advisor and business partner to clients, founders, and management by providing expert guidance on Indonesian legal and regulatory matters.
- Provide strategic, commercially focused advice that aligns legal solutions with business objectives.
- Prepare and deliver formal legal opinions on complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Identify legal and regulatory risks early and provide proactive, business-first solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with legal developments and ensure clients are informed of relevant changes.
2. Corporate Structuring & Compliance
- Advise on and support the setup of company legal structures in Indonesia.
- Establish and maintain company licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals.
- Design and implement robust compliance frameworks in line with Indonesian laws.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel, regulators, and other professional advisors when required.
3. Contract Drafting & Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate key contracts, agreements, and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure all agreements protect client interests while supporting commercial goals.
4. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of junior lawyers.
- Review and ensure that all deliverables are accurate, high-quality, and client-ready.
- Provide guidance, feedback, and development support to enhance team capability.
5. Quality Assurance
- Ensure all legal outputs (contracts, legal opinions, reports, filings) meet international firm standards.
- Maintain strong attention to detail, consistency, and professional presentation.
- Uphold best practices in legal drafting and advisory work.
6. Support to Expatriate Partner
- Serve as the primary Indonesian law expert supporting the expatriate partner.
- Provide insights into local legal frameworks, compliance, and regulatory matters.
- Bridge cross-border legal and cultural differences in client engagements.
- Assist in client strategy, pitches, and business development initiatives.
7. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Represent the firm in client meetings, negotiations, and legal discussions.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through responsive and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized university
- Qualified to practice law in Indonesia (PERADI or equivalent certification required).
- Minimum 7–10 years of legal experience, preferably in a top-tier or international law firm.
- Strong expertise in Indonesian law, corporate structuring, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
