Position Overview
Senior Insurance Manager – Insurance oversees corporate insurance management and risk-protection strategy across the Awak Mas Gold Project's operations and assets. The role is responsible for policy administration, asset coverage evaluation, and claims coordination, while ensuring alignment with contractual and insurance-clause requirements. Acting as the Company's internal insurance specialist and strategic advisor, the role works closely with brokers, insurers, consultants, and operational stakeholders to secure adequate coverage, mitigate risk, and maintain compliance as the project moves from construction into operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage corporate insurance activities, including policy administration, renewals, and claims coordination.
- Review and evaluate insurance clauses, coverage terms, exclusions, and contractual requirements to ensure adequate risk protection.
- Coordinate asset insurance processes — asset listing, valuation support, and coverage analysis for operational and project assets.
- Prepare and manage insurance documentation, reports, and supporting data required by insurers, auditors, and management.
- Work with brokers, consultants, and insurers to negotiate policy terms and optimize coverage structures.
- Conduct insurance analysis and premium calculations to support cost-effective coverage and risk-management strategies.
- Monitor policy compliance and ensure alignment with regulatory, contractual, and corporate governance requirements.
- Provide insurance advisory to internal stakeholders on risk exposure, coverage interpretation, and claim matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in corporate insurance, risk management, or insurance consulting — preferably within mining, oil & gas, EPC, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of insurance products, policy structures, clauses, and claims-management processes.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting insurance contract clauses and coverage calculations.
- Familiarity with asset insurance and operational risk exposure in capital-intensive industries.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to coordinate with brokers, insurers, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a consultative mindset.
