Senior Insurance Manager - Gold Mining (Office Bintaro)

PT Masmindo Dwi Area | Awak Mas Gold Project, South Sulawesi

PT Masmindo Dwi Area is building the Awak Mas Gold Project, an open-pit gold mine moving through construction toward first gold. We are looking for a Senior Insurance Manager to own the company's insurance program as the project completes construction and enters production.

You will carry the program through the transition: the policies that cover a plant being built, and the ones that cover a plant that has to keep running.

What you will do

• Own the insurance program end to end: property and industrial all risks, machinery breakdown, business interruption, marine cargo, and liability cover.
• Manage the transition from construction cover to operational policies, with no gap between practical completion, commissioning, and first production.
• Meet the insurance covenants attached to the project financing, including required coverage, lender endorsements, and reporting to lenders and their advisers.
• Build and maintain the insured asset register with Finance and Engineering, so valuations and sums insured hold up when a claim is tested.
• Review insurance clauses and coverage terms across contracts, and verify that contractor and vendor insurance meets contractual requirements.
• Lead claims end to end, from notification and loss documentation through adjuster negotiation to settlement.
• Negotiate policy terms, structures, and premiums with brokers, insurers, and reinsurers.
• Advise management and operational teams on risk exposure, and report on program status, cost, and open claims.

What you will bring

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, Law, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years in corporate insurance, risk management, or insurance broking, ideally in mining, oil and gas, or heavy industry.
• Hands-on experience with operational asset cover: property or industrial all risks, machinery breakdown, and business interruption.
• Working knowledge of insurance requirements under project financing, including lender covenants and reporting.
• Proven experience running claims to settlement, including working with loss adjusters on significant losses.
• Strong command of policy wordings, clause interpretation, and sum insured and premium calculation.
• The negotiating weight to hold your ground with brokers and insurers, and the judgment to know which risks are worth carrying.
• Based at our office in Bintaro, with travel to site in South Sulawesi as required.

An advantage: experience taking an industrial asset from construction cover into an operational program, exposure to contractor insurance verification on large mining or EPC contracts, and professional certification such as AAAIK, AAIK, or ACII.
