Job Description

Working Location: Site Based – West Sumbawa

Working Schedule: Regular working days 5:2 (Monday-Friday)

Sr Engineer Project Control Project is responsible for establishing, managing, and optimizing all project control functions including planning & scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, reporting, risk management, and change control across major capital projects development.

This role ensures project execution is aligned with approved baseline (scope, schedule, cost) and provides accurate forecasting and decision-support analytics to enable on-time and on-budget delivery.

Some of your duties will include:

A. Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and maintain integrated master schedule for EPC / EPCM projects

• Define Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) aligned with project scope and contract

• Coordinate schedule inputs from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning teams

• Conduct critical path analysis and identify schedule risks

• Monitor and update schedule progress (weekly/monthly)

• Lead schedule review meetings with stakeholders

B. Cost Control & Budget Management

• Establish project cost baseline, cost breakdown structure (CBS), and control budget

• Monitor actual cost vs budget vs forecast (EAC, ETC)

• Perform cost variance analysis and identify deviations

• Support cash flow forecasting and financial reporting

• Ensure cost tracking aligns with SAP / ERP systems

C. Progress Measurement & Reporting

• Define progress measurement systems (physical progress, earned value)

• Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports including SPI, CPI, and S-curve analysis

• Provide dashboards for management and stakeholders

D. Risk Management

• Identify, assess, and monitor project risks and opportunities

• Maintain risk register and mitigation plans

• Conduct quantitative/qualitative risk analysis (schedule & cost impact)

• Integrate risk into project forecast and contingency planning

E. Change Management & Claims

• Manage change control process (scope, cost, schedule changes)

• Evaluate impact of variation orders (VO), claims, and contract changes

• Maintain change log and ensure approval workflow compliance

• Support contract/commercial team in claim analysis

F. Project Controls Integration

• Ensure integration between schedule, cost, risk, and procurement & contracts

• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, SCM / Procurement, Finance

• Align project control systems with company standards and IMS

G. Systems & Tools Management

• Lead implementation and utilization of Primavera P6 / MS Project

• Utilize SAP (Project System / Cost Control)

• Develop Power BI dashboards

• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reporting automation

H. Team Leadership & Governance

• Lead and develop Project Control Engineers / Planners / Cost Controllers

• Define KPIs and performance targets for the team

• Ensure compliance with Company SOPs, HSE standards, and audit requirements

What skills and experience do you need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Project Management; Master's Degree (preferred).
  • Have 10–12 years experience in project controls / project management within large-scale capital projects or project development in mining, heavy industry, infrastructure, or EPC/EPCM environments; At least 5 years in senior role/ act as Lead.
  • Have technical competencies: Project planning & scheduling (Primavera P6), Cost control & budgeting, Earned Value Management (EVM), Risk management, contract & change management, understanding of project lifecycle (Feasibility → EPC → Commissioning)
  • Have certifications is preferred : PMP – Project Management Professional; PSP – Planning & Scheduling Professional; CCP – Certified Cost Professional.
  • Strong in leadership and team management; Good in analytical and problem-solving skills; Good in stakeholder management; Attention to detail; Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; Familiar with software such as Primavera P6 (mandatory), SAP Project System, Advanced Excel, Power BI (preferred).
