Job Description

We're Hiring Senior Employee Relations Officer!

Join ESSA and play a key role in fostering a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace environment. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Employee Relations professional to support employee relations programs, employee engagement initiatives, grievance handling, and labor law compliance. This role will serve as a trusted partner to employees and management, helping maintain productive working relationships while ensuring adherence to company policies and Indonesian employment regulations.

Work Location: Head Office – South Jakarta

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Psychology, Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or HR Generalist roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian Labor Law (UU Ketenagakerjaan) and related employment regulations.
  • Experience handling employee relations matters, employee grievances, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement programs, welfare initiatives, workplace culture development, and expatriate formalities.
  • Experience supporting industrial relations activities, including labor disputes, collective labor agreements (PKB), or union-related matters, is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations objectively and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • High integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • CHRP certification, Labor Law training, Conflict Resolution/Mediation training, or other relevant HR certifications will be an advantage.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage employee formalities and ensure compliance with company policies and Indonesian labor regulations, including employment contracts, personnel documentation, and employee records.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, providing guidance and escalating complex matters when necessary.
  • Support the implementation of employee engagement programs, welfare initiatives, and company events to enhance employee experience and organizational culture.
  • Assist in disciplinary actions, grievance handling processes, and conflict resolution initiatives while ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal compliance.
  • Conduct research and monitor updates related to labor laws, employment regulations, and industrial relations trends to support policy implementation and compliance efforts.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis related to employee relations activities, engagement initiatives, and workforce trends.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Capital functions, including HC Services, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development, to support a positive employee lifecycle experience.
  • Support workplace investigations involving employee conduct, workplace concerns, and policy violations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and supporting data related to industrial relations matters, including labor disputes and collective labor agreement (PKB) activities.
  • Promote compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) and Environmental Management System (SML) requirements within the workplace.
  • Take appropriate action and report unsafe conditions or behaviors that may pose risks to employees, the environment, or company operations.
