We Are Looking For
As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems within the data center. You will handle day-to-day operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, and assist in troubleshooting to ensure continuous power availability.
Working closely with the wider technical operations team, you will follow approved procedures, support incident response, and help drive improvements in system performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
Your Job Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and monitor HV, MV and LV electrical systems, UPS System and Generator System to ensure safe and reliable data center operations in accordance with approved SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and company standards, including applicable electrical codes and HSE requirements.
- Support the development, review, and implementation of operational procedures for critical electrical systems.
- Take a lead in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to improve system reliability and uptime, related with assigned system.
- Support change management activities, ensuring electrical changes are properly reviewed, executed, and closed.
- Provide technical support to the design for upcoming data centre project and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency
- Participate in capacity monitoring, energy efficiency initiatives, and system performance trending using BMS/DCIM tools.
- Support major maintenance activities such as shutdowns, electrical studies, UPS and generator maintenance, and equipment overhauls.
- Coordinate with operations teams, vendors, and contractors to resolve electrical issues and support maintenance works.
- Interface with operation, process, project construction, design solution engineering team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered operation team
- Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the operations team.
- Support cost optimization initiatives and participate in PTW, MOS, and Risk Assessment reviews.
- Proactive to do site facility improvement to increase asset reliability
Qualities You Should Have
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering or operations, preferably within data centers or other critical facilities.
- Familiar with HV and LV electrical systems, UPS System and Generator System, operational procedures, and safety practices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, BMS, EPMS and CMMS/DCIM systems.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
