Our facility in Batam, Indonesia specializes in the production of lighting and detection product technologies including our Specialty Lamps for industrial and photonics applications, IPL Lamps and Trigger Coils, as well as Infra-Red Detectors (IRD), Sensor Modules and Pyro-electric Ceramic Wafers. Operating since September 1994, this site is also responsible for manufacturing of our Thermopile Sensors (TPS), Thermopile modules (TPM), CCD Sensors and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.
We are presently seeking a Senior EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Engineer who will be responsible to implement and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SMK3, and applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain EHSMS in line with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and SMK3 to ensure compliance with company standards and Indonesian regulations.
- Support audits, inspections, and timely closure of findings.
- Conduct risk assessments (HIRA, JSA) and workplace safety inspections.
- Ensure implementation of control measures (LOTO, machine guarding, PTW).
- Support safety reviews for new equipment and process changes.
- Investigate incidents and near misses; conduct root cause analysis.
- Track and ensure closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate emergency drills and maintain response procedures.
- Deliver EHS training for employees and contractors.
- Promote safety awareness through programs and campaigns.
- Monitor hazardous waste (B3) handling and environmental compliance and coordinate environmental monitoring and reporting.
- Support occupational health and industrial hygiene programs.
- Ensure safety equipment inspection, certification, and maintenance.
- Support contractor safety management and compliance.
- Maintain EHS records and prepare regular reports.
- Support EHS improvement initiatives.
- Comply with procedure related to quality, environment, health, and safety management system in respective area in charge.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree, preferred in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, OHS, Industrial, or related field.
- 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and SMK3 systems.
- Certified Ahli K3 Umum is required. Certified Ahli K3 Kimia and/or Ahli K3 Kebakaran is added advantage.
- Trained ISO 14001, ISO45001, and SMK3 internal auditor is an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving and incident investigation skills
