Design, build, and maintain monitoring systems for critical database metrics, equipped with intelligent auto-alerting mechanisms.
Proactively monitor and analyze slow queries—beyond adding missing indexes, provide actionable recommendations to engineering teams to improve query structure and application logic.
Demonstrate deep understanding of cardinality, efficient index utilization, and the ability to manage rapidly growing tables through effective partitioning or sharding strategies.
Take full ownership of database replication mechanisms, ensuring seamless auto-failover processes with zero data loss during disruptions.
Proactively conduct capacity planning to prevent unexpected infrastructure cost spikes and avoid sudden performance degradation due to data growth.
Lead and uphold a 24/7 on-call rotation culture within the DBA team to ensure immediate response to production incidents.
Drive a strong post-mortem culture following every incident, focusing on long-term systemic improvements to prevent recurrence.
Ensure data security, proper access control management, and regularly tested backup and recovery procedures.
