Your Mission: The Role

You are a technically accountable, outcome-delivering Lead Data Engineer at Searce. You are the sole architect who translates complex business requirements into live data products, directly leading the design and hands-on execution of our scalable data infrastructure. You'll be the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for architecting, building, and optimizing the pipelines that guarantee the accuracy and availability of our core business metrics.

Your Responsibilities

This role demands a founder's mindset toward our internal data products. You own the strategy and the execution of transformative data solutions.

• Data Strategy & Architecture: Translate ambiguous internal business requirements into robust, fully optimized data services, solving critical business problems from the first principles.
• Pipeline Ownership (Batch & Streaming): Own the entire data lifecycle, personally building and optimizing pipelines to ensure high availability, performance, and timely data flow using the latest cloud platforms and tools.
• Deep Data Modeling:Design complex data structures, develop intricate stored procedures, and optimize transformations for speed and scale.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with data scientists and internal business leaders, championing data governance and contributing technical expertise to platform innovation discussions.
• Technical Delivery Ownership: Effectively manage your own demanding work streams, ensuring projects deliver measurable business value on time and under budget.

• Cloud Platform Mastery: Deep, hands-on capability with major cloud services (e.g., BigQuery, RedShift, Spark, Dataflow, EMR).
• Code Prowess: Expert-level SQL (non-negotiable) and production proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Ecosystem Fluency: Strong experience with the data science ecosystem (pandas, NumPy), connecting data directly to analytic outcomes.
• Engineering Hygiene: Expertise in version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.

Experience and Relevance:

• Data Engineering Mastery: 4+ years of hands-on experience focused on architecting and deploying end-to-end data pipelines for Batch/Streaming data.
• Cloud Project Ownership: Proven experience personally building and delivering data warehousing and analytics projects using cloud technologies (GCP/AWS).
• Technical Depth: Demonstrated expertise in building complex Big Data architectures and optimizing transformations for speed and scale.
• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
