Role Description The Senior Data Engineer (join ASAP) role is a contract, on-site position based in Jakarta, Indonesia. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and downstream applications. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, implementing robust data models and warehousing solutions, and ensuring data quality, consistency, and security across systems. The Senior Data Engineer collaborates closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and troubleshoot data-related issues. This role also involves monitoring data infrastructure performance, improving existing workflows, and contributing to best practices in data engineering.
Qualifications
- Strong data engineering skills, including experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and data processing workflows.
- Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing, with the ability to structure data for efficient storage, retrieval, and analytics.
- Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools and frameworks, including building, scheduling, and optimizing ETL jobs.
- Applied data analytics skills, including working with large datasets, querying data, and supporting business intelligence and reporting needs.
- Experience with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala).
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools (e.g., cloud data services, distributed processing frameworks, or orchestration tools).
- Ability to work on-site in Jakarta, Indonesia, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in a senior or lead data engineering role, including mentoring team members and contributing to technical standards, is highly beneficial.
