Our Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team is internationally recognised for delivering high-performance, resilient and sustainable data centre solutions for hyperscale, colocation and enterprise clients.
As Southeast Asia continues to experience rapid digital infrastructure growth, we are strengthening our regional MCF leadership capability and are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to drive technical excellence and delivery performance across major developments in APAC.
The role is open to candidates based in either Ho Chi Minh City or Jakarta. Given the regional nature of the position, periodic travel between both locations will be expected.
What will you do
As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Power Management Systems (PMS) for missioncritical data centre projects. You'll work with multidisciplinary teams, develop technical solutions, and ensure all designs meet industry standards and client requirements across both greenfield and brownfield projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of the Controls Philosophy and overall control system design.
- Produce complete Controls design packages for global projects.
- Conduct condition surveys on existing control systems and instrumentation.
- Prepare reports outlining legislative noncompliance and improvement actions.
- Determine optimal design approaches balancing technical and commercial factors.
- Support system architecture development for greenfield and brownfield C&I upgrades.
- Create Control System designs from concept to detailed design, including performance specifications.
- Produce design deliverablesdrawings, schedules, datasheets.
- Coordinate Control Systems scope with other engineering disciplines.
- Collaborate with Revit Technicians and oversee development of 3D Revit models.
- Coordinate network infrastructure requirements with Network Infrastructure Engineers.
- Prepare and review tender documents, specifications, and BOQs.
- Support construction and commissioning phases, including reviewing submittals, responding to queries, and conducting site visits.
- Participate in testing and commissioning, up to Integrated Systems Testing.

What you bring
MustHave Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Process Automation, Mechatronics, Systems Design Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Consulting experience in data centres or similar industries.
- 5+ years as a Controls Engineer in an MCF environment, ideally data centres.
- Strong HVAC process automation knowledge.
- Experience with SCADA, BMS/PMS/DCIM systems and emerging tech (AI, ML).
- Familiarity with ISO 22237, EN 50600, and related legislation.
- Proficient with Autodesk tools (viewing/markups).
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and timemanagement abilities.
- Able to work independently and travel as needed.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of NOCs, SOCs, and site radio systems.
