Requirements:
- AWS Certified Migration & Modernization (Specialty) — Highly Preferred.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 2 years focused specifically on AWS migrations.
Responsibilities:
1. Discovery & Assessment (Phase: Assess)
- Perform deep-dive infrastructure discovery using AWS Application Discovery Service and Migration Evaluator.
- Map complex application dependencies and create Migration Waves based on business criticality and technical readiness.
- Conduct TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI analysis to justify migration paths to stakeholders.
2. Migration Execution (Phase: Mobilize & Migrate)
- Design and deploy secure AWS Landing Zones using Control Tower and Terraform/CDK.
- Execute large-scale server migrations using AWS Application Migration Service (MGN).
- Perform database migrations (RDS/Aurora) with zero-to-low downtime using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Change Data Capture (CDC).
- Automate migration workflows using AWS Migration Hub Orchestrator.
3. Modernization & Refactoring (Phase: Modernize)
- Containerize legacy applications for Amazon EKS or AWS Fargate to improve scalability.
- Leverage Amazon Q Developer (AI) to analyze legacy code and accelerate the refactoring of Java/.NET/Python apps into microservices.
- Replace legacy file systems and storage with high-performance Amazon FSx or S3 Data Lakes.
4. Governance & FinOps
- Implement Security by Design using IAM Identity Center, AWS GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
- Optimize post-migration costs by rightsizing instances and implementing AWS Compute Optimizer recommendations.
- Ensure all migrated workloads meet global compliance standards (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA)
