Our client is a US-based technology company building and modernizing a complex enterprise platform used across multiple business domains. The system handles high-volume data processing, business-critical workflows, and requires strong scalability, security, and performance.

They are currently undergoing a major modernization initiative, transitioning legacy components into a more maintainable, scalable architecture using modern backend, frontend, and cloud technologies.

The engineering team emphasizes clean architecture, strong testing culture, and long-term code maintainability, with a focus on building systems that can scale reliably.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Backend-Heavy Full Stack Engineer to take ownership of stabilizing and modernizing core platform components.

This role is highly hands-on and requires deep backend expertise, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to work across frontend and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead refactoring and modernization of backend systems
• Design scalable APIs and optimize system performance
• Work with complex data models and database structures
• Identify and resolve technical debt and bottlenecks
• Implement and enforce testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E)
• Contribute to frontend development (Angular)
• Collaborate on AWS-based infrastructure and services
• Mentor engineers and enforce engineering best practices
• Participate in architecture decisions and system design

Requirements (Must-Have)

• Strong experience in ASP.NET Core and C#
• Proven experience designing and building Web APIs
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and Entity Framework Core (recent)
• Strong understanding of system design, SOLID principles, and architecture patterns
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Experience with Angular in real production projects
• Experience with AWS services in production environments
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
• Experience working in complex enterprise systems

Nice to Have

• CI/CD pipelines
• Redis / caching strategies
• Auth systems (JWT / OAuth / Auth0)
• Clean Architecture / DDD experience
• Experience in system modernization projects

Work Setup

• Remote (Southeast Asia preferred)
• Must align with US (Atlanta) working hours
• Independent contractor setup (no local benefits)
