About the Role
Massive Music Entertainment is looking for a commercially driven Senior Sync Licensing Executive — Advertising to join our Licensing department.
You will develop and manage music sync licensing opportunities for advertising campaigns and related branded content, working with agencies, brands, production houses, and internal teams to turn campaign briefs into relevant music solutions and commercially viable licensing deals.
Reporting to the Sync Manager, you will manage opportunities from the initial brief through pitching, negotiation, deal closure, and project completion within approved guidance and delegated authority. Assignments beyond advertising will be allocated by the Sync Manager.
What You'll Do
- Identify and develop music sync licensing opportunities for advertising campaigns and related branded content, building productive relationships with agencies, brands, and production houses.
- Review and qualify briefs based on creative and commercial fit, budget, timing, rights availability, and deal readiness.
- Translate campaign briefs into relevant song or catalogue options, considering creative needs, media, territory, duration of use, and exclusivity.
- Prepare proposals and pricing recommendations within approved licensing guidance, and manage pitches, negotiations, and client follow-ups through closure, execution, or loss within delegated authority.
- Coordinate rights clearance and required consents with Membership and Data, and work with Finance and legal support where required to prepare complete approval and contract packages for the Sync Manager. Escalate unresolved rights or consent gaps before making client commitments.
- Escalate non-standard usage rights, pricing, exclusivity, contractual concerns, and other material risks through the Sync Manager for the appropriate review and approval.
- Maintain accurate pipeline records covering briefs, proposals, negotiations, usage terms, approvals, and deal status; provide regular progress updates and commercial insights to the Sync Manager.
- Coordinate complete licensing documentation, collect evidence of actual usage, flag discrepancies against agreed terms, and hand over billing information to Finance with the Sync Manager.
- Monitor advertising trends, campaign activity, client needs, and market developments to identify relevant music licensing opportunities.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, Music Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in account management, business development, advertising or media sales, partnerships, or licensing, with a demonstrated track record of developing client relationships, negotiating proposals, and managing projects through completion.
- Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
- Good understanding of the advertising ecosystem and how brands, agencies, and production houses work together.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Commercially minded, proactive, and consistent in managing client follow-ups.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and complete project documentation.
- Working knowledge of sync licensing and music usage rights, including clearance requirements and how media, territory, duration, and exclusivity affect licensing scope.
It Will Be a Plus If You Have
- An established network across brands, advertising agencies, or production houses.
- Direct experience managing music sync licensing deals, with deeper knowledge of music publishing, repertoire, and rights administration.
- Strong familiarity with Indonesian music and the ability to match songs to creative briefs and explain your recommendations.
