What You'll Do
The Security Team Lead is responsible for administering organizational security plans and operations. Executes procedures and processes to provide physical protection for personnel and firm property, day-to-day damage, vandalism, loss prevention and other related security risk programs and meets required codes and regulations.
You play a key role in protecting Viasat company personnel and assets while ensuring efficient, customer‑focused security operations. The role serves as the primary coordinator between the site and Viasat Global Security headquarters to manage risk and maintain compliance requirements in the physical security, facility security and life safety domains.
Oversee daily security workflows, security staff scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management, fostering a service‑oriented culture across all shifts. They ensure compliance with policies, maintain a positive work environment, support team development, and continuously identify improvements to security processes and procedures, while remaining flexible to support additional operational needs as they arise.
The day-to-day
- You serve to protect all company assets and ensure fluid, efficient, and effective customer service.
- Foster an attitude of service within the Security team and work closely with Shift Leads to ensure that all shifts are running effectively and as desired.
- Responsible for managing security risk assessments and supervising incident investigations.
- Maintain a close relationship with the Global Security leadership team on emerging risk reporting, changes to enterprise security procedures, incident reporting and general security incident management.
- Support and administers organizational security plans and operations.
- Maintain records, manuals and documentation.
- Execute procedures and processes to provide physical protection for personnel and company property, day-to-day damage, vandalism, loss prevention and other related security risk programs and meets required codes and regulations.
- Compile data for loss control and accident reports.
- Coordinate activities with local police and emergency agencies as appropriate.
- Work on and may lead projects of diverse scope with little instruction.
- Demonstrate judgment in providing / suggesting methods to the company.
- Work autonomously with little instruction to solve well-defined problems.
- Present results according to predefined metrics and makes suggestions to determine appropriate methods.
- Provide guidance and/or mentor to Outsource Security members
- Other duties as required by the company.
What You'll Need
- Have a minimum of Security working experience of 5 years or more.
- Professionally qualified in the Security System and Procedure and have a high degree of independence mindset.
- Familiar with basic security requirements and facility security platforms (access management, video monitoring and visitor management systems).
- Excellent communication and inter-personal relation skills, pleasant personality, a team player and possess a high level of integrity.
- Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism when representing the company
- Strong administration skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Strong organization skills with good administration ability.
- The role must have a high degree of independence.
- Strong time management with the ability to shift priorities to respond to urgent alarm conditions and events.
What Will Help You On The Job
Preferences:
- Knowledge of Lenel, Milestone, ServiceNow.
- Experience with visitor management systems.
- Experience in procedure writing and training program creation.
- Familiar with Security Verification Procedures
