Role Description The Science Tutor Grade 8 will provide in-person tutoring to Grade 8 students in Bandung, supporting their understanding of key science concepts such as physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. This part-time, on-site role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the school curriculum, using examples, experiments (where appropriate), and visual aids to clarify complex topics. The tutor will assess student understanding through questions, short exercises, and formative assessments, then adjust teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs. Responsibilities include preparing learning materials, tracking student progress, giving constructive feedback, and communicating with parents or guardians as needed. The tutor is expected to maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and uphold Airi Course's standards for professionalism and academic integrity.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Grade 8 science topics, including basic physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science, and ability to explain these concepts clearly.
• Skill in lesson planning, structuring tutoring sessions, and using varied teaching methods to address different learning styles.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and provide supportive, constructive feedback.
• Classroom management and organizational skills to maintain a focused learning environment and manage multiple students if needed.
• Experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring middle-school students is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in Bandung on a part-time schedule, with reliability and punctuality.
• Minimum of a high school diploma; a degree or current studies in Education or a science-related field is an advantage.
