SAP Specialist (Data integration to AWS)

At Insignia, were looking for a Data Engineer who can bridge the old and the new extracting structured and operational data from SAP environments using ABAP, and building robust pipelines to bring it into AWS for modern processing, analytics, and AI-ready use.

Youll work at the intersection of legacy enterprise systems and cutting-edge cloud architecture. If youve navigated SAP modules, written ABAP extractors, and know how to land that data securely and efficiently in S3, Redshift, Glue, or EMR, we want to hear from you.

What Youll Do:

Extract data from SAP ERP (FI, CO, MM, SD, etc.) using ABAP programs, RFCs, BAPIs, or IDocs

Design and build secure, scalable data pipelines from SAP to AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, etc.)

Transform and model data for analytics, reporting, and ML-readiness

Collaborate with data analysts, cloud engineers, and business teams to align data with use cases

Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across on-prem and cloud environments

Automate extraction workflows and monitor pipeline health

Who You Are:

Experienced in SAP data extraction using ABAP writing custom reports, function modules, or extractors

Skilled in data engineering with strong SQL, Python, and ETL/ELT design

Familiar with AWS data services: S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, or Step Functions

Understands enterprise data structures (e.g., SAP tables like BKPF, BSEG, MARA, etc.)

Bonus: Experience with SAP OData services, PI/PO, or CPI

Bonus: Exposure to data governance, CDC (change data capture), or real-time streaming

Proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about making legacy data work for modern needs
