Job Description

  • Direct and control student behavior and discipline, counseling students regarding acceptable school conduct and recommending appropriate action to be taken when necessary.
  • Implement the master schedule and student schedules.
  • Schedule proper supervision of students during the school day and during approved co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • Create and manage break, after school, weekend and tutorial schedules.
  • Oversee planning of school trips.
  • Assist with evaluation of teaching staff, formal and walkthroughs.
  • Implement and review data related to common assessments such as School assessments, Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE & IB assessment and NWEA MAP.
  • Remain abreast of current curriculum trends, instructional strategies, practices, developments, instructional materials and related governmental procedures and guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, school, and community committees on all school related matters.
  • Assist in the selection of school personnel for Cambridge & IB.
  • Coordinate activities at the start of the academic year to ensure orderly opening of the school
  • Plan activities for staff development and follow up to measure effectiveness and implementation.
  • Coordinate new teacher on boarding.
  • Identify workshops, in-services, and other Cambridge & IB staff development activities.
  • Plan, coordinate and follow up school academic teams/competitions.
  • Lesson plans, Curriculum/scope and sequence follow up for Cambridge & IB curriculum.
  • Review and provide feedback on weekly lesson plan submissions.
  • Work with in conjunction with the principal in implementing academic programs
  • Oversee organization of all major school events.
  • Establish and maintain an effective accounting and inventory system for departmental supplies, materials and equipment.
  • Inform the Principal of difficulties that staff are experiencing and help them overcoming struggles.
  • Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
  • Some subject teaching is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master's degree (preferable) from Faculty of Education/Education Management, Management, Psychology or other relevant major.
  • Having 5 years experience in leadership position (Principal, Vice Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, Head of Department) at international/SPK Schools.
  • Having experience working with international curriculum (Cambridge, IB, Pearson, etc) as well as Indonesia's national Curriculum.
  • Having experience preparing and assisting in international accreditation processes.
