Soundzipper is looking to hire an experienced quantity surveyor to act as a Sales Support Specialist related to construction projects, ensuring projects are cost-effective and profitable from the initial sales pitch through to completion. This position includes participating in the Acoustics and AV project sales processes, assisting the sales team with CRM administration, managing quotations, preparing presentation materials, and handling project documentation. This role combines traditional quantity surveying with a strong commercial and client-facing focus to support the sales and business development teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation & Quoting: Prepare initial cost estimates and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) by analyzing client specifications and designs provided by the sales team.
- Sales Support & Documentation: Create initial quotes and documents for the sales team.
- Tendering and Procurement: Prepare and manage tender documentation
- Financial Control & Risk Management: Monitor and control project costs throughout its lifecycle, identifying and analyzing commercial and financial risks.
- Contract Administration: Administer contracts, manage contractual claims and disputes, and ensure compliance with all legal and quality standards.
- Progress and Payment: Oversee completed work, manage payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Reporting: Produce regular, detailed progress and budget reports for clients, project managers, and the sales leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of cost estimation and management techniques, as well as construction contracts and procurement.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in relevant software like AutoCAD, Revit, and project management tools.
- Commercial Acumen: Excellent understanding of project profitability, loading margins, and financial sustainability.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Language: Fluent in the English language
