Job Description

About the Role

This is the analytical engine of the Sales Planning & Excellence function. As an Associate, you turn raw sales and distributor data into the reports, forecasts, and insights that drive Tentang Anak's offline commercial decisions every week. You'll build and maintain the models and dashboards, prepare distributor and channel performance reviews, and surface the trends and anomalies that leadership needs to act on.

You work hands-on with data across modern trade, general trade, and distributor networks, partnering closely with the field sales, BI, supply chain, and finance teams. The role focuses on the offline side of a business that sells both online and offline, so a strong feel for distributor sales, coverage, and inventory dynamics matters.

What You Will Own

Sales analysis & reporting

  • Build and maintain regular sales performance reports and dashboards across offline channels — daily, weekly, and monthly — ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze sales data to spot trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate them into clear, actionable findings for the team and leadership.

Distributor & channel performance

  • Track distributor performance — primary and secondary sales, productivity, SLA, coverage, and inventory — and prepare the packs for monthly business reviews. (Senior Associate: co-lead or lead these reviews.)
  • Flag underperformance and inventory issues early and support the follow-up actions.

Forecasting & planning support

  • Support the development and execution of sales forecasts and demand plans; maintain the underlying models and assumptions.
  • Help translate targets into channel-, region-, and SKU-level plans and track actuals against them. (Senior Associate: own a defined slice of the forecasting cycle end to end.)

Data management & process

  • Maintain and organize sales data and tools, ensuring consistency and a reliable single source of truth.
  • Identify recurring manual work and propose simplifications or automations to improve speed and quality.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with field sales, BI, marketing, supply chain, and finance to align data and assumptions and support informed decisions.

What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)

  • Core offline sales reports and dashboards are delivered accurately and on time without close supervision, and stakeholders trust the numbers.
  • Distributor performance packs are consistently ready ahead of monthly reviews, with issues and insights clearly highlighted.
  • Forecast inputs and models you maintain are reliable and improve in accuracy over the period.
  • You've delivered at least one or two improvements that reduce manual effort or speed up reporting.
  • Your analysis has directly informed a commercial decision or corrective action — you're seen as a go-to for what is the data telling us
  • (Senior Associate) You independently own a reporting or forecasting stream and run distributor reviews with limited oversight.

Who Will Thrive in This Role

  • Experience: 1–3 years for Associate as a Sales Analyst, Data Analyst, Sales Planner, or similar — ideally in FMCG or a multi-channel, distributor-led environment.
  • Analytical: Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts); exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented: You care about accuracy and can manage multiple reports and deadlines without dropping quality.
  • Curious & commercial: You don't just pull numbers — you ask what they mean for the business and want to understand offline sales dynamics.
  • Clear communicator: You can present data insights simply to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-driven: You work well independently and as part of a team, and you bring speed and ownership in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Analyst, Data Analyst, or Sales Planner, preferably within a multi-channel environment (1–3 years for Associate; 3–5 years for Senior Associate).
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts); data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, etc.) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of sales metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and comfortable working both independently and in a team.
